About me
Hi, welcome to my site. If you hadn’t figured it out yet my name is Phil Parsons and I am a web developer from London UK. I love all aspects of programming and development and even enjoy the design side of things, although I do tend to be overly critical of my own design ideas sometimes. When I’m not tied to my desk I can normally be found in the gym pulling deadlifts or pushing out some squats and also enjoy taking my mountain bikes out when the weather’s good, which doesn’t seem to be that often anymore
My work life
I am currently working on some freelance projects and although I like the freedom have decided to seek a role within a web or software development company. I started out in mechanical engineering and developed an interest in computing about 5 years ago which has led me to undertake a degree in computer science with the Open University. I spend an unhealthy amount of time at my computer working or reading articles on sites like nettuts and css tricks and really enjoy learning new skills.
My skills
I am pretty versed with client side languages such as (x)html, CSS and javascript (including jQuery) and have been developing my PHP, MySQL and Java skills through study. I’m interested in developing applications that are accessible, aesthetically pleasing, standards compliant and adaptable. As far as software goes I’m pretty comfortable in any text editor but use Dreamweaver and Netbeans as my weapons of choice. I also have much experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Fireworks.
Hire me
If you like my work and wish to hire me for a website project or some graphic design work then feel free to contact me. If you have a position within your company that you feel may benefit me then please also get in touch so we can discuss terms.
